While we’ve all heard of the freshman fifteen, I think it’s
fair to say that I’ve gained the holiday hundred. Am I exaggerating? Yes.
Are my clothes fitting just a bit tighter than they were back on
November 25
th?
Definitely. So, what’s my plan to
undo what holiday snacking and overindulging has done? Well, for starters, I plan on defiantly putting
down the left over holiday pound cake, pie, and cookies, and then replacing
their evil sweetness with healthier options as well as resuming my workout
regime; which has been lounging around with me and all of those holiday goodies
since Thanksgiving. Not sure you can do
it? Jasmine Rodriguez, acting Manager at
The Spa at Honor’s Haven Resort, says you can with just a little
motivation. Here are Jasmine’s three
favorite ways to stay inspired:
Don’t Weigh Yourself
Every Day – Your weight can fluctuate throughout the course of any given
day, and the fastest way to kill your motivation is to weigh yourself daily. It’s important to remember that your weight
is the result of many different factors, like water retention, hormonal
changes, or your salt intake. To get a
better snap shot of your progress, step on the scale once a week or every two
weeks.

Set Daily Goals -
With so many apps and accessories out there like Fitbit, Misfit,
My Fitness Pal and
Runtastic , setting a daily goal and
keeping track of it has become super easy and fun.
Get Competitive –
Participating in a team-based weight loss competition can help you lose up to
20 percent more weight than trying to do it on your own. So go ahead, recruit your friends, family,
and co-workers for you own version of the Biggest Loser!
